Bob Raffety

Robert Bonds Raffety, loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend,
passed away Friday, October 24, 2014 in the Veteran's Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas.

He was born on December 22, 1949 to Carl H. Raffety and Martha Raffety, who died in childbirth. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl and his stepmother Eileen Raffety and his brother-in-law, Garry Thompson.

Bob was a proud Veteran; he loved and served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He attended the University of Houston where he met his wife of 38 years, Mary Helen Lyons Raffety and they had two sons that he adored, Robert Todd Raffety and Andrew Michael Raffety and a grandson, Aiden Michael Raffety who was the light of his eye!

Bob is also survived by his brother, Carl H. Raffety, Jr. and his wife Sandra (Sonnie); his sister, Carolyn Conroy and her husband Kevin; sister, Linda Thompson; and his mother-in-law, Amelia (Kitty) Lyons and his many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and grand- nieces and nephews.

Bob was a legendary culinary expert that was self-taught, but showed his love through the amazing dishes he would serve to his admiring family and friends. He will always be remembered and cherished for his infectious, one-of-a-kind laugh, his loyalty and love of family and his country. He will be greatly missed.
